Terms & Conditions (UK) Live at The Local

Last updated: 5 May 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Live at The Local mobile app and related services we provide ("Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

Operator: LIVE AT THE LOCAL LTD ("we", "us", "our")
Company number: 17184773

Your use of personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy published on our website (https://www.liveat-thelocal.co.uk/privacy-policy).

1. Eligibility and accounts
  • -You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

  • -You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure.

  • -You are responsible for all activity carried out using your account.

  • -We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, pose a risk to other users or the Service, or where required by law.

2. User roles and features

Features depend on account type (public users, musicians, venues). The Service may include public event listings, maps, saved items, following, "going to" event features, venue verification, Backstage profiles, profile codes, community posts, replies/reactions, featured placements, and other discovery tools. Some features may only be available to certain account types or verified accounts.

Backstage profiles and profile codes may be visible to other users. Following an account, saving items, marking events as going, and interacting with posts may affect what appears in your app experience.

3. User Content

"User Content" includes event listings, venue/musician/public-user profile details, Backstage bios/taglines, profile codes, community posts, replies, reactions, images if introduced, feedback, and any other content you submit or publish through the Service.

You retain ownership of User Content and grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, adapt, and use that content as needed to operate, promote, moderate, secure, and improve the Service. Public User Content may be visible to other users and may appear in feeds, search, maps, profile pages, or featured areas depending on app settings and account type.

You are responsible for ensuring your User Content is accurate, lawful, non-misleading, and does not infringe third-party rights or disclose private information about others without permission.

4. Rules of use (acceptable use)

No unlawful or abusive content, harassment, hate speech, misleading event listings, impersonation, unauthorised use of another venue/musician identity, scraping/abuse of limits, security interference, spam, or misuse of third-party integrations. Do not post private personal data, copyrighted material, or confidential information unless you have the right to do so.

5. Events, maps, location

Listings are informational only. Confirm details with the venue, musician, or organiser before travel or reliance. We do not guarantee accuracy, suitability, availability, safety, or that an event will go ahead. Venue notifications and pending verification features are provided to support trust, but they do not guarantee that a venue has endorsed an event unless the app clearly shows that verification has occurred.

Marking an event as saved or "going" is for app convenience and community/discovery features; it does not reserve entry, buy a ticket, create a contract with a venue or musician, or guarantee admission.

6. Verification and moderation

Verification and safety features improve trust but do not guarantee listings are accurate or lawful. We may review, remove, hide, demote, restrict, or moderate accounts, posts, replies, events, featured placements, or other content where reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, platform rules, user trust, or service integrity.

We may feature, promote, label, or visually highlight certain venues, musicians, or events. Featured placement may be controlled by us and may change, start, or end at any time. A featured label is not a guarantee, endorsement, or ranking of quality unless expressly stated.

7. Third-party services

Apple, Google/Firebase, maps, email, analytics/performance, app security, and potentially payments if introduced. Their terms may also apply.

8. Privacy

Explained in the Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual property

We own the Service (excluding your User Content and third-party components). No bulk scraping or extraction except as permitted by law.

10. Beta / TestFlight

Prerelease builds may be unstable; provided "as is".

11. Changes

We may update the Service and Terms; material changes will be notified where reasonable.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate for breach, risk, legal reasons, or platform rules. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion. In-app deletion is the preferred method; email is available as a fallback. Some data may be retained subject to lawful retention.

13. Disclaimers

Service provided "as is" / "as available" to the fullest extent permitted by law. Statutory rights for UK consumers are not affected where applicable.

14. Limitation of liability

Subject to mandatory law: no indirect/consequential losses except where recoverable under mandatory law; aggregate cap per 12 months: greater of GBP 100 or fees paid for paid features in that period.

15. Indemnity (business use)

Business/professional users may indemnify us for claims arising from their content/events/conduct, to the extent permitted by law.

16. Governing law

England and Wales, subject to mandatory consumer protections. ICO: https://ico.org.uk
